"We first visited the Salutation Hotel 29 years ago as a wedding venue and it was a premium location then. Getting the opportunity to stay there again now, we were excited to see it again. Unfortunately, it isn’t what it once was, although it was eerily familiar as little has been done to maintain or upgrade it over that time it seemed. However, there were redeeming features apart from the trip down memory lane. These included a very good hot breakfast, with an excellent manager (female) running...

"I arrived a bit early. Nobody wS there, save a sign and two phone numbers to call. I reached someone, and was asked to wait a few minutes. A bit later, i checked in. Bags were carried for me. and i was shown how the electric worked. A nice touch was the cooked to order complimentary breakfast the next morning. Save for those first few minutes, my stay was fine."

Perth was within easy walking distance. The lounge with the wood burning fire in the evening was cozy and a great environment to enjoy a wee dram. Great breakfast."

"Staff was great. They were rolling out a soft start after a kitchen remodel and handled it well. Setting is beautiful, rooms were clean but views out the window need refresh as we looked into an unmaintained garden area. Doors could be repainted in the public areas esp the bathroom. Drinks on the lawn watching the sunset was fantastic. Would recommend and stay again."

"The staff were very nice, friendly and cheerful, the bed was comfy, the room was hot, the food (dinner and breakfast) was ok. But that’s about it. I don’t understand how a big hotel chain can justify this as a 4 star? The place was dirty, the furniture tired and you could see paint coming off. Let’s not try and pass it as a character property. It needs investment and serious refurbishment as it’s currently a very old and not looked after b&b than a 4 star boutique. "

"The room was spotless, warm and spacious. We opted for Deluxe room which was situated in the annexed building on ground level. The staff were extremely welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful. Plenty of storage and coat/clothes hanging space. Being in a rural spot, we found it very peaceful. A large car park is sited just across the road, which links Perth and nearby Glenfarg. The manager and chef provided recommendations for places to visit by car. We enjoyed our stay here, part of a longer touring...

"Hotel reception and check-in was easy and cordial, Room #6 was spacious as was the ensuite, and the staff were eager, energetic, and attentive---especially in the restaurant. The restaurant offered a variety of foods, beverages, and delicious desserts. A+ for the restaurant! However, based upon our experience the only time I would stay again would be in high summer. Room #6 was freezing. And the Dimplex electric wall-mounted heater was pitiful. It would only operate for 90 seconds before...
