We stayed at The Gallivant Times Square from Jan 31st to Feb 6th. The rooms were okay and had everything you’d need for a short stay, but the hotel itself is a bit run down. The lobby is nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
Housekeeping was sensational — our room was cleaned daily, we received fresh towels every day, and the housekeeping lady we saw a few times was absolutely lovely. She even followed up to ask whether maintenance had fixed the issues we reported, which was really appreciated.
Unfortunately, some room issues were never resolved. The safe never worked, the toilet clogged and overflowed twice, and while we were given a TV remote, the TV itself only had one channel. The shower had great water pressure, but water would leak all over the bathroom floor, which could be a slipping hazard. After the second toilet issue, staff did offer to move us to another room, but with only three nights left it felt like more effort than it was worth.
Overall, the location is fantastic — less than a 5-minute walk to Times Square and close to subway lines. This is not a 5-star hotel, but for a cheaper stay in an unbeatable location, it did the job.
