Spa area is ok, but quite full on the weekend so be prepared :-) Two things that were a little bit of a let-down; for a hotel that prides itself as a spa hotel it should really have shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Especially after pool time. Second thing is that the TV is not smart - just something to keep in mind if you want to chill after a little swim around the pool. Otherwise hotel and amenities are pretty good. "

"James at the front desk saw that our bags were delivered to our room while we explored the city. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and hot. Staff was very thoughtful. Did not see any ghosts, but still had an amazing stay. Rye is very sweet and the Mermaid Inn is very special. "

"Hotel is very jaded and in need of significant refurbishment but that said, it was clean and comfortable. Staff were brilliant and the breakfast, cooked to order was excellent. It’s a very short walk to the centre of Rye and its position gives a great view of the Channel estuary. Good value for money reflected the overall need for modernisation. "

"The staff were lovely and the food was great. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was wonderful and clean but the room was far too hot because it was next to the main working fireplace of the hotel. We had to have the window open the whole time to cool down, (but didn’t make too much difference in temperature) and then smoke from the chimney came into the room."
