"Breakfast was standard Hampton, and entrees were different each day. Location is quiet, away from the large group of airport hotels. It is in the takeoff pattern for Oakland, but an extra layer of window glass in the guest rooms kept the airplane noise to a whisper. Our only recommendation is to improve the room lighting, which is very subdued."

"This hotel was dated, yet clean, friendly, and functional. My son and I needed somewhere to stay before our early flight out of Oakland and this place was perfect. We liked the quiet location by the marina and the fact that we could walk next door for dinner. We slept well and being close to the airport made our travel day far less stressful with a 6am departure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again. "

"I have stayed at the Coral Reef many times over the years. It is a classic 1930’s/1940’s motel so things are a bit old. But the price, value, and location are great for a traveler who enjoys a place with character and history. The website suggests they have a “business center,” but they do not have a room with a computer and printer you can access. But the staff at front desk were very helpful and printed out my conference papers for me. I had a great stay"

"The room I was in was very worn. There was peeling paint on one of the window areas, chipped counter tops, a very saggy sofa and mattress, and no thin shades or curtains to allow light in without exposing the guest to people walking by the window. The curtains were light blocking, so the choice is to have people able to see in as they walked by or keep the curtains closed and have a dark room hat required artificial light. "Room was clean. Toilet bowl cover had to be moved in order to flush. There were abandoned cars and homeless people living in the parking lot. I had to leave my ID in exchange to use the iron and board - and I had to go get it and walk it back… super weird. The lobby was closed to guests, so just a walk up window from the parking lot. If staff is scared, makes me feel unsafe. The AC unit in the room was damaged, and the heater didn’t work - I was freezing. The phone was ripped out of the wall, so...
