"I loved this place. When I go to England, I enjoy these smaller, transformed hotels much more than bigger ones and Hand and Spear has been the best. The room I got was spacious with ample wardrobe space and beautiful decor. The bath was insane with a beautiful claw foot tub. I’m very self-sufficient when I travel so I don’t expect a room made up each day but I’m sure they would accommodate you and they quickly brought extra towels when I asked. The thing is…my room had food and a little fridge...

"Edwina was a welcoming host! Nothing was too much trouble! Made sure we always had what we need! Accommodating our American car! Fabulous fresh cooked breakfast! Room was lovely which was cleaned daily. The best shower pressure! Tea coffee, water and juice in the room. Great location, walking distance to Esher town centre and the Racetrack! Highly recommend Edwinas home!"

"Very disappointing overall. Upon arrival, the receptionist couldn’t find our booking because it had been accidentally deleted by the reservation team. Thankfully, a helpful manager eventually provided us with a room. The room itself was quite small, with tiny beds and a poor layout. The bathroom had a large, unused empty space, while the main room barely had enough space to place luggage on the floor. There was no fridge, and the decoration was very basic and uninspiring.
