"Great place on the Cornwall/Devon border, equidistant from the stuff you can do in the Southwest. The food they serve is great, as is the staff I interacted with. An EV charger in the same parking area is very helpful, as well. I was surprised that my single room didn't have a TV. The water pressure and heat when trying to shower were never consistent (but usually okay). While not a comment about this hotel, know that this area doesn't have much for stuff to do. "The hotel is well overdue for a makeover, the staff, however, are excellent, although they forgot to service our room on a 2 night stay. The room was extremely disappointing, being both small & very, very scruffy. The position of the hotel is absolutely perfect for exploring Ilfracombe, if staying again will book direct with the hotel and ask for specific rooms, in all a very enjoyable visit, apart from the accommodation, the breakfast was excellent! Did not fancy the free breakfast, crossaints were stale and scrambled eggs were lacking in taste. Good location, a 10-15 min walk from the high street area, and less than 10 min walk to the quay area where there are many restaurants. Overall, I would recommend this hotel."
