"The absolute worst hotel I’ve ever booked. Took nearly an hour to check in because they were accidentally overbooked. They said there were no rooms I had booked available and instead gave me a temporary bigger room… but the smell in there was awful. I thought it was gasoline at first and got a massive headeache after just minutes in the room. Turns out the walls were freshly painted which I discovered after moving my bags which were now covered in wet paint. As they had no other rooms available...

"The host was very welcoming and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The location is perfect, quiet and at the same time close to the Medina which is good to walk around and visit the old city of Fes. The room price was affordable 50 euro per night, whereas Expedia listed the price in Moroccan dirham. "Situated in the medina, very convenient for shopping and dining. The room was clean and the bathroom too but there is this sewer smell which is understandable because it’s an old riad and could have come through the open window from outside. The manager’s hospitality will make up for whatever structural lacking. Nordine welcomed us with mint tea and helped us arrange for our day tours, walked us to tour meeting place.
