Room for improvement: all 3 mattresses were sagging/broken, we all basically slept on springs. The radiator of the 2 single beds room was so noisy we had to turn it off. " I wanted to share a review of the wonderful experience I had during my stay last night. As someone who works in hospitality, I’d say I’m probably fussier than most and Parkgate certainly had a strong reputation to live up to - but it absolutely delivered. Every member of staff I encountered was polite, friendly, approachable, and incredibly attentive. From the doorman to reception, the waiting staff in The Sorting Room and cocktail bar, as well as room service and the spa team - everyone contributed to making my stay so enjoyable. I only wish I could thank each of them personally and I hope this review is passed on. I did try to take note of a few names. There was a lovely lady on reception at the spa who arranged my booking, and Lucy, my therapist, who was exceptional. She was warm, professional, and attentive throughout - regularly checking in to ensure I was comfortable. It was genuinely one of the most relaxing massages I’ve ever had. At afternoon tea Nicola and Massimiliano (I think) in the restaurant couldn’t have been more accommodating, it was both filling and beautifully presented. While the room itself was lovely, it was truly the staff and overall experience that made my stay so memorable. I’ll absolutely be recommending the Parkgate and look forward to returning. Thank you again to the entire team. "

"Very good hotel at that price for a break in Cardiff especially for train travellers as it is right next to the station & easy walking distance to all the City centre shops & restaurants. Rooms are compact but have all you need. Comfortable beds, TV & hairdryer & shower rooms with complimentary shampoos, soaps etc. The reception staff were very friendly & helpful as well as the house keeping staff. Very comfortable & enjoyable stay"
