"The room was not as we saw on the website, we didn’t have a garden view but a large wall, which made the room really dark, the carpet was stained, the breakfast was ok until my husband saw the chef put cereals spilt on the table back in the pots with the ones to be eaten , there was a big sign outside saying come and look at our refurbished rooms, we certainly didn’t get one "

"The room was really dark and I didn't like the open plan layout with the toilet in the bedroom (no privacy). The room décor was tired and the jacuzzi didn't work. Only 5 hangers which the staff quickly remedied. Lovely long decking area but it hadn't been cleaned and had no decking furniture so you couldn't sit outside. "The bedrooms and halls probably needed to be refurbished 30 years ago. They certainly are long overdue a completely overhaul today. The bathroom was grimy and there was no excuse for not providing a single chair in the room. What was the point in providing even the tired dressing/table desk without one?"

"It was very exciting staying in a castle. We had the family room which was very quaintly laid out with a single bed in its own part of the small turret, through a stone arch. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was served in a box in our room with loads of choice, and fresh produce in a mini fridge which was lovely. The area is stunning. "On the whole it was a very enjoyable birthday weekend for myself and my wife. One small comment to make is on the Saturday night we opted for the buffet as opposed to the à la carte. The choice and quality weren’t the best but ok, only then to find out when the time came to pay that the costs were the same for the buffet as they were for the à la carte! Bit naughty really. "
