"Really friendly and helpful staff. Great location. I booked a small room and there was enough space. The room could do with a little sprucing up in places, but clean and comfortable. It was up three flights of stairs, so may be an issue for others. Some hotels in France have some kind of water fountain to reduce plastic, so that was missing. But otherwise a great place and I would stay again."

"On our visit to the south of France we decided to stop in Nîmes overnight to see the temples and Roman Coliseum. We chose Hotel de l’Ampitheatre for its proximity to the train station and the sights, and high ratings. We were not disappointed. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and charming, and the breakfast is fresh and delicious. It felt like a lovely little Inn. "This was our second stay at the Royal hotel, our first was just an overnight stay, and we liked Nimes so much we wanted longer and couldn't imagine a better hotel. This time it totally lived up to expectations. It is amazingly convenient for the centre of historic Nimes, opposite the Maison Carre!
