"I will start this by saying I have been to this resort 6 times now. 3 without children and 3 with children. The first trip only Hotel Marina El Cid existed, the next trip Ventus was added, and the third trip Ventus Ha was added. For the price point this resort has always been fabulous. The grounds are beautiful (minus the beach), the staff is top notch, and the food is good. The entertainment is also decent, but the indoor and outdoor spaces where the shows are performed are too small to accommodate the amount of people that are at the resorts. It was fine before the two connected resorts were added on, but there are too many people now for those spaces. They are also expanding again so I imagine this will become a bigger problem. As far as family amenities go, the main pool has a cliff jump and slide, but you won't get a full blown water park like some resorts have. They also have a kids club that is free that runs from 9am-9pm daily. The main reasons I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is lack of large entertainment space, terrible beach, and long lines for breakfast/dinner when the resort is at capacity. This was the first year we had lines everywhere because all 3 resorts had a lot of people staying. We had family go a month before and they had no issues, so it likely depends on timing. The lines only applied to buffet breakfast and dinner. A la carte restaurants and the lunch buffets never had any issues. Overall I would recommend this resort, it is a great value."
