"We had an awesome room with ocean view and were treated to champagne and a romantic set up as a welcome gift for our honeymoon. The Oceanside pool and spa was beautiful. The breakfast and dinner buffet had great variety and price was reasonable. Staff were friendly and accommodating."

"Really interesting building, with access to the various levels via external escalators. An intriguing Bond villain vibe! The staff were all lovely, facilities were very good, and the rooms were simple but pleasant. The spa area was sometimes a little understaffed, but the pool was very nice and clean, with beautiful views. The restaurant was excellent, as was the breakfast. Overall a really nice stay!"

"Superb hospitality with one of the best I have seen in Europe, pleasant and friendly staff. The location of the hotel is not only at walking distance to all major sightseeing in Funchal, but also have tour operator options nearby and within the hotel itself. "Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were always excellent. We particularly enjoyed visiting the rooftop (terrace) bar, especially during its "happy hour"! Mixed feelings about our room. Although undoubtedly stylish, it was surprisingly dark and we thoroughly disliked the needlessly complex lighting controls. We would also have preferred a more complete separation of "private" facilities (toilet and shower) from the other living quarters. "
