"The room was clean and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was good, not a huge selection but enough choice to accommodate most people. The Oakland is in a very convenient location. Saturday night they have a live band which can be noisy if you want the windows open. The bar was busy and the atmosphere friendly the band when we stayed was very good. The joining walls in room are thin, we could here the tv and hairdryer from next door. "

"The room was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable, although the room was small, and if you ended up stuck inside, you’d quickly become claustrophobic. Likewise, the picture used to advertise the hotel is not a picture of any public or restaurant space in the hotel building, but a picture of the pub/restaurant 150 feet away. There is no public space you can hang out in within the hotel building. The price could not be beat, however. The fan for the bathroom was totally ineffective and made the entire room very humid.
