"Had a wonderful and peaceful stay for my birthday - staff very kindly upgraded my room. I had the most relaxing facial at the spa which was worth every penny! I also really enjoyed the fish and chips from the restaurant. Cleanliness was overall good, but could've been improved when it came to stains on the sofa in the room, occasional hairs left on furniture and insects found in-between the window frames. I understand some of these can be difficult to remove, but that attention to detail...

"Close proximity to the train station which was essential for our onward travel to Stansted . The staff were friendly , the rooms, although slightly dated , were spotless & the bed comfortable. The location was really pretty being on the River Stort . We made use of the onsite cafe / bar. then took an evening stroll along the river bank . It would have suited us to have breakfast in the cafe but it was closed the following morning for a deep clean , which just shows cleanliness of the place...
