"Liked the garden, but it needs a little C&A... Disabled car parking near to our room (No.5) was an excellent bonus. Breakfast was excellent but a bit expensive. Staff were all very courtious and helpful. Direct booking rather than via an agency is preferred. We will certainly be recomending the Lion to our friends and relations and using you again next time we are in the area. "Looking quite tired now in some of the rooms and have had to report maintenance requirements in different on my last 3 stays. Change of policy to not offer breakfast as part of a package without any change in price is sneaky and wasn't communicated at booking."

"Lovely old building, good location exceptional breakfast. Parking is a bit of a nightmare after a 10 point turn in the car park had to find parking across the road which was no problem for my little car but you might struggle with a bigger car."

"The staff were friendly but very green, during an evening meal and breakfast we had to ask several times for things like water, coffee and toast and some of these things didn't arrive at all. They are pleasant but need more training on staying on top of orders and clearing the tables. Breakfast is strange with you being charged £17 to have access to the continental and light breakfast menu, and then you having to pay an extra £5 for more premium items like a full English. "Hotel and restaurant were good but the bedroom was so hot and unable to cool down, even if cool outside. Window didn’t open enough to allow a breeze in. Was told after checking out that we could have signed a waiver to all the window to open wider - not much use after the event. Could increase the opening from 2 to 4 inches to allow a fan in front of the window. Also get better fans and heat reflecting curtains to stop the warm air at source. Same heat issues in corridors"

"Cooks Flat is a great find in Wrexham! Tranquil, peaceful and beautiful walks on the property. What a treat to stay on a private estate and visit the Victorian kitchen and games room. "Stayed 2 nights in a deluxe room. As did our daughter and son in law. Both rooms were lovely. Clean, well equipped and comfortable. The hotel is in a great central location. We had room service for breakfast both mornings. Our daughter ate breakfast in the restaurant. Both were very nice. The only downside was that we couldn’t get the room cool enough during the heatwave but the hotel were quick in providing us with a fan to help.
