"The hotel has has a recent upgrade and looks amazing. Set in beautiful grounds and walking distance stroll into town. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome by staff and our room was lovely too. The stairs are beautiful and the facilities and areas around the ground floor of the hotel are really comfortable and relaxing to enjoy. Parking is only £5 for 24 hours and the staff are so friendly and helpful."

"Expectations were high after been at the venue a few years ago for a christmas gala and overnight night, enjoying our experience overall. We attended The Austin wedding on Sunday 14th June We checked in online but didn't actually collect our belongings from the car until 7.10pm (after the ceremony/reception). We were allocated room 212 - upon arrival I noted the bed unmade, wet towels/shower mat on the bathroom floor, no tea, coffee or kettle in the room No cups for the hot drinks No glasses in...

"From checking in to checking out the experience was first class. The staff were warm and welcoming with a professional and friendly attitude. The breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the restaurant. We will definitely be back again. Thanks to everyone for making our wedding anniversary weekend so special."

"A nice hotel off the M1. Plenty of parking. A warm welcome on arrival. All staff were very pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Very handy that there was air con in the room. Disappointing that the windows were locked, they should NOT be. Cooked and continental breakfast was good. A excellent hotel due to its location for business or touring."

"Booked here for mine and my partners 2nd anniversary! Room was bigger than I thought! (Good thing) Nice and clean! Air-conditioning which was a life saver with the weather at the moment! Ended up having a Sunday lunch at the pub next door to the rooms and it was the best Sunday lunch I've had out! Staff we're great and attentive! Would definitely return!"

"Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome."

"We stayed in a beautiful hive which was nicely done and the hotel itself was beautiful. We were disappointed not to have a bath or to be able to use any the sauna facilities and that whole building seemed to be in the midst of renovation. We were also surprised that breakfast wasn’t included and that when we ordered English breakfasts we didn’t get any toast and when we asked for some were then charged £2.50 per slice. I feedback when we departed that I was not impressed but nothing was done...

"This is an marvellous property. Our room is spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good and has many choices. There’s a plenty of places with free parking."

"Unfortunately no staff on reception at any time so no help when you need it. Had to find my own key to the room when arriving late as no porter around. Food very good though and room clean"

"We enjoyed our stay at Makeney Hall. The first night we arrived late and the couch pull out bed had no sheets or blankets. The front desk staff was very kind and went and found what we needed and we were very grateful. The room was nice size and the grounds were very beautiful."
