"Great national Trust venue/hotel. Given it is old the windows rattle and no air con or fridge in the room. However if you are looking for a great place to stay with an old time experience, this could be the place for you."

"A very convenient location not far from the city centre. Host contacted us to check check-in time and give property/room codes, so very easy to access. The accommodation and room were a bit shabby: fraying carpets; couldn't reach the Velux to open it without standing on a chair (average height); Velux blind that did not stay down at night so we had to open the window and wedge it in the crack to keep it down; very squeaky rolling bathroom door which woke us up whenever someone wanted to use the...

"Room was immaculate . £15 per night to park car at property I found this a bit pricey but parked there anyway . If you want an early check in it’s £25 which once again is very pricey but you can park up and leave your stuff if you don’t want to pay this . If anything the bathroom is on the small side. Bed was very comfy . Would use again"

Didn’t have breakfast but looked amazing and did not need to use car park but there looked like plenty of spaces which is rare in York. Loved this place and will definitely come back"
