We only saw Aeon Mall and Naritasan Park. I was surprised how few crowds there were (compared to the other parts of Japan we visited). It was so pleasant strolling thru the gardens and beautiful grounds around the Pagoda w/o the crowds.

Narita is the airport but it is also a small town about 10 miles away (one train stop). The town is well worth a visit with its meandering Main Street and shops. Good place to try out the bbq eel as it is sold at most restaurants

Narita was a great little city to visit took 10 minutes by the JR train. I walked to the temple complex and stopped at local merchants along the way. Great way to spend four hours before my late plane took off.

If you have time, you should definitely visit downtown Narita. It is a quaint town and there is a huge temple which provides beautiful walk in absolutely beautiful garden in the back of it.

People arriving into Japan should consider staying in Narita, rather than going right away into Tokyo. Narita has many beautiful spots, and is much cheaper than Tokyo.

I would have liked to stay longer but we did take an enjoyable walk up the Main Street to the Naritasan Temple complex. The heat was unfortunate but the temple was an amazing experience! There are so many shops along the street with food and souvenir
