"Stunning building with such potential for a star of the art hotel in a fabulous historical building. Unfortunately it seems to be being run by a lack luster company with no imagination for what it could be. The room we had was enormous but had been decorated in very low quality materials. The carpets were cheap and badly laid and the curtains were a thin cheap materials. The Restuarant similarly had such huge potential but was thinly and poorly staffed with inexperienced and untrained staff....

"Hotel and room were very nice, however a hidden parking cost was not appreciated. Was told I needed to pay for parking at reception on arrival, when I mentioned to manager(?) that evening that it showed that parking was free both on Expedia and their official website he said it was a new charge that they obviously hadn't updated online, but was given no choice but to pay or leave (hotel is on a main road near no other options!)"

"Front of house looks quite good when you arrive, with friendly staff but everthing else from room cleanliness, to working electrics in the room, to choice and quality of breakfast, definetely needs some TLC. However, it was a good price and has free parking so, for what I needed (3 nights solo accomodation whilst helping my son do some DIY on his house) it was adequate. "

"I unfortunately booked for the wrong month. Having emailed the hotel to ask to change the booking they referred straight to their cancellation policy with absolutely no flexibility. Considering it’s a huge hotel and it was an honest mistake I am very disappointed with their response. I wouldn’t rebook based on this. "

"Bathroom was poor with outdated bath and shower which was dangerous to use. The group booking for 9 people did not seem to exist. Very poor internal communication. The bedroom doors were not soft close and banged all night as people went to their rooms. We were refused entry to the dining area at 7.00 pm as we hadn't booked never having being informed of such a procedure at reception. Finally two days before we were due to arrive we were informed that our booking made on Jan 23rd nearly 2...
