"The staff were outstanding. The owners, Pat and Lyn, were the friendliest pub landlord and landlady in Britain. Ruby was a fantastic host and Andy was incredibly charming. The bar itself was beautifully constructed and thye home made Steak and Ale pie was the best meal I've ever had. The home made chili was next level perfection."

"The hotel is under refurbishment so building work going on. (Not advertised) Queen room booked to be told one wasn’t available because I had booked a standard. Had to contact Expedia who then refunded a small amount for inconvenience. Paid for three course dinner to be told there was only pizza or curry available no starters so had chips instead, did not eat curry as was undercooked chicken. Wrong dessert was then given out. (We were not the only disappointed diners with some asking refunds and leaving) Sleep was terrible beaming light from big gap under door all night. Slamming door throughout the night. Would not recommend would not return."

"Great location, in a nicely modern service station with a Starbucks drive thru and Pizza Express. The view from the window was pine trees and the car park (and our car). You can only access from the Southbound services. The best thing was the value for money. Couldn't beat the price elsewhere. Reception staff very friendly. Would stay again."

"I have stayed at this hotel before and know to have a reasonable stay you need to book a deluxe room. I did this and when I arrived I was told it was not a dog friendly room despite having called ahead to confirm before booking. I was given a room which was for three instead which basically had a single bed instead of a dressing table. A tv which could only be watched from a single dining chair set in a corner. The bed was a small double which creaked and the bathroom was falling to bits with a stained floor. It is a shame because it is a convenient hotel for me but having paid for a deluxe room and being given that room was really not acceptable. "

"Parking was easy and free during our stay. Too few staff with too much to do. We were not offered desert after our main meal and gave up waiting for anyone to check if we would like a desert! Overall the property needs a refresh as if is tired."
