"Excellent hotel and highly recommend to all. Location is perfect. Right in the centre of Buxton. Very beautiful and surrounded by lovely cafes, bars, restaurants. There isn’t a car park on site so I parked in the train station which cost about £5 for 24 hours and was 2 mins walk away. Room was very nicely appointed. Lovely and quiet. Felt private. Bathroom luxurious. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Staff all very friendly and polite. Local and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served...

"It’s an old and tired building and the rooms are dingy and dark although clean. The car park is down a step, untarmacced hill on waste ground and is not lit in any way. It was difficult to pull my suitcase up to the hotel. It’s a rabbit warren inside the hotel lots of doors and steps up and down to different corridors. I dont think it is worth the money."

"Lovely location for walking the Peak District. Also ideal as a stop over if heading further, especially if you have an electric car as they have a charger for a reasonable fee. Nice touch is the packed lunch included in the room rate every day."

"Awful. Had homeless on the entry steps. Police in reception dealing with something. Delapidated. And needs money to at least fix cracks in wall and paint it. Needs a good clean the stairs had years of dust on them. Looks like a hotel that the owners have just forgotten about."
