"We had an amazing time at this resort, it was clean and there was a large selection of food at the buffets and the à la carte dining was excellent. We wanted to mention the excellent staff, especially the entertainment team (and Naima, Gabriel and Alberto) who made our stay super fun as well as the great night performers."

"The good : bed was comfortable. The staff for the restaurants were friendly and efficient. The grounds are well kept The bad : Food is junk food based. Quality was mediocre at best. Not on-par with other five star in the Riviera. Some of the dinners were quite bad. The drinks were not good either. The little things that are supposed to make this hotel different such as a record player in the room and a bath simply did not work, even after we called to get them fixed. "The property is right on the beach! We were unable to get in the water and use a lot of the amenities, like paddle boards, due to the sargassum (which is on every beach in the Riviera Maya). The restaurant staff were very attentive and the breakfast was good. They made us a to go meal on our last day. There is no other choice for meals in the area, so you need a car if you want to eat elsewhere. Taxis were $400-450 Mex pesos for a one way ride to the nearest village. You get 1 bottle of water...

"Hotel is old. Rooms smell musty. The staff is helpful though. We ended up leaving this hotel and going to another, newer property and were happier there. Also, the crowd is on the older side at El Dorado. Wrong vibe for us."
