"Wonderful"

"This was a beautiful resort. However, the food and any other necessities were very expensive. The concierge said they would help us with an excursion, but did not. I asked several times. It was very hard to get any information. I will not be back. I would spend your money elsewhere!"

"Biggest problem is that it’s in the middle of nowhere so unless you know for sure you’re there for the wakeboarding, I would not stay there. Other than that the room was pretty ample and nice. Food was fine."

"We had a wonderful short stay at the Belmond Maroma to celebrate our engagement. The staff and their service were top notch. In particular, Emanuel took great care of us. The spa was wonderful for both treatments and some time in the hot/cold plunges, steam and sauna. "The hotel was a bit run down. Definitely needs maintenance and up grades. The staff was awesome though. The food was good. If you are looking for some quiet time this place is a good choice."

"Staff unfriendly at check in. Most places were not open. All rooms were rented had issues, chili g smoke detectors, that took two days to fix, broken phone, toilet and shower. Room decor for birthdays were not done, mine said happy honeymoon and I came solo. Just overall very dissatisfied with this resort. They need customer service help."

"The hotel is beautiful and the pools were very clean and well maintained. The grounds were very well kept and they attempted to clean up the sargassum best they could given the circumstances. However, the food was far below expectation. We frequently struggled to find something to eat and items on the buffet were cold despite being there the second that it opened. "Chablé Maroma”s location, facilities, restaurants, and vibe are outstanding and superior to the half dozen or so Riviera Maya properties I have stayed at in recent years. The breakfast at the Kaban restaurant on the water is a sublime experience. The jungle spa has everything you’d expect at a world-class facility, and it is right in the middle of a teeming jungle. The staff are always genuinely helpful and courteous."

"It is a new construction, the room was amazing, really clean, with ocean view, the pool really nice. The only thing that it was a big minus is that the Wi-Fi wasn't working in our room, we notified the front desk clerk and went to our room to try to fix it but couldn't be fixed and in that area my phone didn't have good reception there, other than that it was great. "

"We stayed for 9 nights and there was not a day without some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. The staff is very very polite and friendly, but they lack professionalism and training. Some servers in the restaurants don’t speak very good English, so that can be an area of improvement. The overall impression is that the whole operation is out of tune. Strong management and review of all aspects of operations is recommended. Alila is not on par with the rest of the Mayakoba hotels."

"Resort is more for a older crowd like 50 and up so if you’re looking for a turn up type resort this isn’t for you"

" Booked this property last minute, got on a flight down there, took a taxi to the property only to find out they canceled the reservation. I never received any notification and it took me contacting them to have them tell me they cancelled it. Here we stand, a family of 5 with no place to stay. Had to take a taxi back to the airport and get booked on the soonest flight back home. I would not recommend staying here, and Expedia was no help either, all they said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. "
