"Lovely, quaint hotel on one of the small canals. The room worked great for my 4-person family and is within eye shot of the main Piazza where all the buses come in so was easy to get to. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and though it was a separate cost at 15 euro per person, it was well worth it. Everything is really close in Venice so really anywhere on St Lucia is convenient for shopping and sightseeing. Additionally, there are a couple of restaurants right next to the hotel and we enjoyed...

"Lovely hotel, previously stayed when it was Lacanda san Barnaba and the upgrade is really great, whilst still keeping the originsl ceiling frescos and other features. Great new updsted bathrooms. Great communal areas as well as fab breakfast. Only slight niggle was not much hanging space and no drawers but easily manageable. Overall a great stay"

As we approached the hotel after walking a short distance from the San Marcuola vaporetto stop, we were pleasantly impressed at how well the outside was maintained with its enclosed courtyard. "This hotel is in a great location but if you happen to have a room overlooking the bus station and park, good luck getting any sleep. People were partying all night in the park including setting off fireworks and really loud bangs of unknown origin. Then they start power washing the sidewalks at 4:30am. Both nights there we didn’t get much sleep. The room was ok. Relatively clean but stains on the blanket. We are very disappointed because we paid a lot of money for this room!"

"The 2 bedroom and 2 bath unit on the ground floor was spacious for a family of four. We loved the large bathrooms and bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with dishes, cups, and pots and pans. The only drawback was with the communication with the host. I would ask questions about the unit or the check in process and for DAYS, no response. "When we stayed, the construction/remodeling was going on. So, moving the luggage on the first floor (where reception is) was a pain because there was no elevator. Thankfully staff came to help but that was coincidental and once. Staff is amazing though. Also, the rooms can’t be locked from inside. You have to use physical keys to lock your room just like you lock from outside. I don’t know if this is traditional/cultural/heritage concept or not. But I didn’t like it. Breakfast was amazing....
