"Beach was beautiful. There were a couple of sargassum days but they worked really hard to keep it clear.
Staff was nice, especially in the buffet restaurant. Those servers were on top of it.
Food was subpar, two restaurants that were alacart were either closed or hard to get a reservation even with the upgraded room. Room was very outdated, but it is an island so some leniency probably needed for construction limitations.
Pool was also not great as in the adult pool most of the pool was too...

"I have stayed here multiple times and this was the first time I saw what others had complained about. The room was a bit more run down there was water damage on the frame of the bathroom door so it wouldn’t close. The second to the last day the hot water stopped working and the last day all water stopped working. The bed in the room was not comfy at all. "The staff and restaurant were great. The hotel was clean, rustic and a dive resort. Great amenities for that. My only complaint is one of the main roads is right next to the resort. I mean right there. The road noise was at times very very loud. Not sure who drives the unmuffled motorcycle at 3 am most morning but ugh! The sunset views from our patio were awesome. Best part…no cruise piers in your line of sight. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"They consider themselves as luxury but they are really not. There were mice droppings ALL OVER the outside of the room in the hallways. Mice droppings in the staircase corners. They have an infestation!!! Also everything is made pretty cheap (furniture, decor, etc). The staff was overwhelmed with the occupancy the week we were there. Would not come back.

"We stayed at Casita Maya for our first ever trip to Mexico and we had a fantastic time here! It really felt like staying with fun friends. Very relaxed energy, very beautiful space.
Daniel is the MVP! He was always joking with my husband and was very quick to help with anything we needed throughout our stay, like numerous taxis and answering many questions. He’s also an excellent chef. We loved having our meals out by the pool, in fact we ordered breakfast here every morning.

"Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Plaza Cozumel. The room was clean and comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and the staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay.
