"This was our second day at this hotel resort, everything was very clean and the people work there are so friendly, the only downside was that they only had one specialty restaurant open and the buffet. Also, the bar by the pool for the adults was closed. But they do have somebody to bring you drinks. We must say that the beach area around the sun chairs wasn’t kept very clean, lot of garbage in the sand."

"Well first off we stayed here for 10 days and when we got to our room it was like an oven the AC unit on wall says 23 that means it's 72 they had to bring us a portable AC unit for a room we had to call three or four times for them to come upstairs to fix it. Anytime we use the iron a blow dryer or a jacuzzi tub outside we had to unplug the AC unit or it would blow a breaker so then we're calling maintenance again to fix the breaker we got an ocean view room and could not enjoy the ocean view room because we had to keep our curtains closed.. half of the staff do not even speak English which is horrible when you have a lot of Americans coming to travel there the food there is horrible the only place that we enjoyed was Manhattan everywhere else was disgusting the pasta place how can you mess up chicken alfredo it was so dry it was like it sat there for 4 days. And chicken piccata was also disgusting didn't even have the capers in it. Ivan met with us to go to another room to look at and boy was that a joke it was so cool but the wall said different I really think there's something behind the scenes where they're turning down the units where you're burning up in there unless you complain like hell after the third day after my surgery it's funny how our AC unit went right back down I do not recommend staying here spend your money elsewhere!!!! I came for dental work and picked an all-inclusive resort because I wanted to be comfortable and that is something I was not..."

"I honestly would not stay at the Occidental Tucancun again. The only real positive was the staff — everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Unfortunately, the resort itself was a huge disappointment. The biggest issue was the food. For an all-inclusive resort, the dining options were extremely limited, and most of the food tasted bland and low quality. Even the buffet food was often stale — the bread was so hard it was practically cracking teeth. The only decent things we had the entire trip were the omelets and tacos, and even those were just okay. The reservation system for dinner restaurants made no sense. Reservations would fill up quickly or “run out,” leaving guests stuck eating the buffet every night. That defeats the purpose of paying for an all-inclusive experience. Another major issue: we saw roaches during our stay, which was honestly unacceptable for a resort. Also, there was no nighttime access to the pools, which made the resort feel boring after dinner since there weren’t many activities or options late at night. Overall, the staff deserves credit, but the food quality, cleanliness concerns, and lack of accessibility/amenities made this stay very disappointing. I would definitely rethink booking here."

"Honestly, this was one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed at. Right in the heart of Cancun hotel strip, close to absolutely everything. Quick ride from airport. Check in process was painless, very fast and efficient. The room was unbelievable. We had the suite with additional master bedroom and full kitchen. No bad views in any room at this resort. Easily the nicest, most spacious and clean room we have ever stayed in. Everything working just fine. The pools were enormous, great service at the swim up bars and great service from your lounger. Whatever you want, food and drink wise - it'll be delivered to you quite quickly. Tons of loungers on the beach as well, which was also beautiful. Around pool area you do have to get down there quite early in the morning to grab some though. No minors in the gym, but gym was nice. Had everything you need. Spa looked great. Lots of activities for the kids, and entertainment at night. Entertainment ends early, which is awesome. It's a quiet resort. Food was the best I've ever had in Mexico! Not as many options but almost everything was top notch. No long waits, anywhere. Room service fast and efficient also! Tons on that menu to choose from. Resort incredibly clean and detailed. Beautiful property! Sports bar was great, all the a la carts were great. Overall this was 10 of 10. We have never gone back twice anywhere but with this resort, we will. I can't say enough good things!"
