"Hello, Reservation #72071827129533 at Sofía by Bunik. When we arrived, another guest in the lobby was complaining about being bitten during the night and asked to change rooms. His room was next to ours. We inspected our bed and found stains and small dark spots that resemble bed bug signs. For health and safety reasons we left immediately and booked another hotel. We did not stay in the room. I am requesting a full refund of CA $184.94."

"We stayed in a king mini suite overlooking the entrance with a view of the sea and sunrise to the right. Very spacious room and super comfy bed. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner supplied but I recommend taking your own. Mini bar stocked daily with water, sodas and beer. Hairdryer and iron in the room. Staff overall were fantastic and friendly. Daytime entertainment team got everyone going and joining in. Evening entertainment was hit and miss, ended by 9:30ish then the bar was very quiet and emptied quickly. Only one bar open at night, it would have been a bonus if the pool bar stayed open later. Good choice of daytime bars and places to eat including pizzas, ice creams, coffee and cakes and the grab and go area. Highlight was Brasas Grill but all eateries were very good."

"You get what you pay for. The room itself was clean but it definitely needs some updates to remove the stains in tiles of the bathroom grout and the shower faucets do not shine at all. Linens could also get an upgrade b/c you can tell they have been washed too. many times now. The staff were amazing though especially the gentleman who worked on our arrival. We found our window didn’t lock and the door lock wasn't working either that he made some changes and gave us a new room to feel secure. On one of the days we hung out on the roof we didn’t feel comfortable there that the staff sent us to their other hotel a block away to use their roof pool instead so that we could enjoy our stay better. Grocery not far away, great restaurants everywhere (best place was like a block away) and beach is short walk too. All in all, it was good enough for what we paid for and we still enjoyed our time there. "

"The first thing you will notice is the awful smell, the beach has so much seaweed it smells of fish. The beach is small and filled with seaweed, so not pleasant at all. It's a busy beach, with lots of local people. Thankfully there is a decent amount of seating on the resort side of the rope. The food was good, I appreciate the decent selection of veg/vegan options, but options are limited, there is only one buffer and one restaurant. You will see the same food selection day in and day out. We went with the all inclusive option, which I would not recommend, since there are so many great restaurant options close by. The daily activities were very basic and limited. This is not a true all inclusive in my mind. There is some nickel and diming for little upgrades here and there, like better drink and food options. Though the facilities are nice, and the staff are mostly very friendly, I would not go back to this resort. "
