" Booked this property last minute, got on a flight down there, took a taxi to the property only to find out they canceled the reservation. I never received any notification and it took me contacting them to have them tell me they cancelled it. Here we stand, a family of 5 with no place to stay. Had to take a taxi back to the airport and get booked on the soonest flight back home. I would not recommend staying here, and Expedia was no help either, all they said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. "

"I cannot express how special this resort is. Small, intimate, and unique. The entire staff helped me celebrate my birthday..special drinks, food and a beautiful piece of cake with a sparkler on top, Best birthday ever. I was upgraded to an amazing ocean front room. The food was great, the pool was wonderful. The beach is maintained and clean with lots of chairs and hammocks. I've found my vacation spot and will definitely be back."

"Absolutely not worth it. The property is old and not well maintained. We were one of few families that got duped by this high rating on here and thought that this is going to be an excellent place to have vacation with kids but it turned out the opposite. Food is mediocre to okay for breakfast and lunch, then better for dinner. Something as basic as getting a proper espresso drink though was impossible. We’ve stayed at St Regis Kanai before this stay and it was absolutely stunning - so going...

"The Fives Beach Hotel: Beautiful Pools, but an Experience That Falls Short of Expectations
Our recent stay at The Fives Beach Hotel in Playa del Carmen was a mixture of enjoyable moments and frustrating experiences. While the resort certainly has its highlights, several shortcomings kept it from delivering the seamless, relaxing vacation we had hoped for.
The standout feature of our stay was undoubtedly the pools. They provided an enjoyable setting to relax and spend time together as a family...
