"Pros: Clean property Helpfull and friendly staff Cons -Room was outdated, damp, mouldy and had rust all over -A/c cannot be adjusted to your comfort settings. 22 degrees centigrate is the lowest you can go, making the room extremely hot - platinum status is a hoax . Save urself some money and just get deluxe -if you have a problem , concierge wont care - half the restaurants are closed."

"Stayed at this resort for a wedding and overall had a good experience! The resort is very large with tons of villas and room options. The newer buildings are the farthest away from the main pool & beach so it was quite a walk. The resort has transportation via golf carts that we occasionally caught a ride on. I loved having my room connected to the adult pool. The staff was amazing and the spa experience was my favorite part of the resort. I also really loved the wildlife we saw here- monkeys, capybaras, iguanas. We only got to try 2 restaurants while we were there due to wedding activities off resort. The sushi restaurant by the main plaza was great, I loved the eel roll and pad Thai! The Italian restaurant was not that great. Most restaurants on this resort do not take reservations so we did end up having to wait around 45 minutes for a table (might have been because we had a group of 6/7 people each time). The pools were great and the wood fire pizza by the beach was amazing! Not a ton of entertainment/night life things to do that I noticed but since the resort was so big we might have just missed it."

"Pools were immaculate and many options. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Room is awesome, housekeeping was perfect. Room service was ok. They forgot about one of our orders, but everything else came on time. The tacos are the way to go for room service snacks. "

"My stay at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort was very good, and this is my honest review. Please don’t let all the negative comments scare you away. I came here with my two teenage daughters, ages 12 and 14, and we had a great experience. Our room was perfect and located in a great area we stayed in Building 27, which made it easy to get to everything. The beach was beautiful. When we first arrived there was no sargassum, although some did come in one day, and the water was a bit murky for a few days because of the rain. We had no problem booking restaurants because when you book with Expedia, you get a concierge who books the restaurants for you. We tried them all, and our favorites were: • Riviera – Mediterranean • Fogo de Brasil – Rodizio • Lirios – Steakhouse • Templo – Japanese Every morning we had breakfast at the Mexican restaurant because it was quieter and had everything we needed. We ate lunch at the main buffet most days, and there were tons of options for everyone, so don’t let people tell you otherwise. We spent most of our time at the Tortuga pool because it was less busy than the main pool. It’s kind of hidden, so I think many people didn’t know about it. The grounds and wildlife were amazing. The resort does involve a lot of walking, so if that’s not your thing, this may not be the best hotel for you. But there were plenty of activities and things to do throughout the resort. I would recommend this resort for families with children."
