"We had a lovely stay overall. The food was great and there were plenty of amenities to enjoy. The ice cream shop and coffee shop were definitely highlights — both were excellent and something we looked forward to every day. That said, the rooms did not meet our expectations. The bed was making broken, creaking noises, and the fan didn’t feel safe to turn on. The bathroom was quite old, and the shower area was very slippery, which made it unsafe, especially with kids. With some updates to the rooms, this place could be amazing, but for now it was a mix of great common areas and disappointing accommodations"

"The service was exceptional at this resort. Everyone we came into contact with were so welcoming and friendly. Housecleaning arrived daily to refreshen the room, and the mini fridge was restocked daily. The entire property was spotless and well maintained. The only improvements we suggest would be the food and drinks. The Italian restaurant was terrible, and the steak restaurant was just so so. We’re typically not buffet people, but it was the only option that was palatable for us. The sushi restaurant was good. There’s really not much of a beach to speak of, but the close proximity to 5th street was extremely convenient to shop and dine at the 100 plus restaurants. This was overall a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation."

"Pretty good overall. Maintenance was poor on some areas. The pool table in the beach bar had a broken rail and was never fixed the entire time we were there as an example. Food was very good in most restaurants except for the Mexican buffet. We ate there the first night and the waiter got our order wrong and was rude when we corrected him. "

"​I can't praise the Reef 28 enough! Upon arrival Alejandro offered us a few incentives if we sat through a 90 minute 'timeshare' kinda sales pitch... 30 minute massage; 2 spa passes; access to 2 other Reef Resorts and free private transfer to the airport (we were flying out of Cancun). Agreed to go and it was WORTH IT! more about this later Expedia Gold Membership got us an upgrade to a corner suite - The suite is bigger than my apartment! Walked into a huge table with seating for 8; Kitchenette; Living Room with big screen TV; a full bathroom and balcony. Then we walked into our bedroom: another full bathroom; king size bed; jacuzzi tub; big screen TV; radio; safe; iron; hair dryer and another balcony (same balcony; it wraps around the entire suite - absolutely amazing!) Next morning; breakfast with Donaciano; Noemi and the rest of the crew - fantastic energy; easy going (absolutely lovely people). Fruits; breakfast parfaits; pastries; breads; western and traditional mexican dishes and the omelette station - Martha's is a freaking wizard of the grill; had one everyday"
